Billing; New User

Used 'LimeWire: The Official Site...' to secure download v4.8.1. During the acquisition, I received two prompts of 'transaction not accepted..try again...', so I did and succeeded on third attempt at submitting payment application. The next day there were three transactions pending on my credit/debit card for the same amount from LimeWire's billing vendor. Called bank, but there was nothing they would/could do. LimeWire Customer service only available Mon-Fri, 9AM to 9PM. Therefore, two erroneous debit holds froze monies in my account enabling 'unavailable funds fee' to be charged to me by my bank. Has anyone else suffered like situation, and what help did LimeWire give, if any?

Just wanted to put this out there, I had no problem making my donation via CC, all good, but whenever you try to pay something online and there's a problem or error message, I wouldn't repeat the action, call someone immediately, that has happened to me in the past. Computers are wonderful machines, but they do exactly what we tell them to do, even if we don't know what we're doing!!! LOL!

I was charged twice as well. I signed up for the unlimited - something like that - but not limewire pro so therefore I cannot go to the help site for that. Can anyone help me? I would like not to have to pay twice. Thank you.

People in this forum are talking about being accidentally billed twice while buying LW Pro, you, on the other hand, paid a scam site for something "unlimited". There is no "unlimited" anything as far as LW and LW Pro is concerned only scam sites offer "unlimited" (nothing) and once you have paid your money they give you a URL link to LW Basic, sometimes stuffed with spyware.

In other words you have been had.

And now that the scam site has your credit details they, being criminals, may decide to continue to take money out of your credit card account for as long as it is valid.

Check out this URL, it may provide you with some help.

Thanks for your reply. I am not at home right now so I am not sure what site I was on. I do know that there was free limewire but you could also sign up for a month, year a one time fee. Maybe that is why they are telling me my email address is not valid when I try to log onto the limewire pro billing support. I was able to download Limewire and download music. That is why I do not understand how I have been scammed. That sucks if so. The official Limewire site does not offer this? I hope this is not true. I have never been "had" before. By looking at the posts in this forum I can call my credit card company and get my money back? Thank you for you prompt response.

The only official place to purchase LimeWire is http://www.limewire.com, or http://sales.limewire.com .

Dear Gypsyt7

Try and get your money back, showing the scammers URL to your CC may help, but above all change your credit card number so no more money can be extracted from it.

Unfortunately, you are not the first and you will certainly not be the last to be scammed. If you think about it, if you didn't come to this forum you would never have known. Now think about all the scammed out there (the world over) who will never come to this forum, they are living in blissful ignorance.

As I have said before, scamming newbies is big business, it so easy and probably costs very little to set up.

Don't be a victim (or a repeat victim) get your money back and change your card details.
