How come Limewire is the only p2p I can use?

I've tried Shareaza, Morpheus(both versions), Bittorent and Emule. None of them download anything ever. Can't be bothered with settings etc, although I have tried every one with different settings. I thought it was just me, not being techy enough but I can't believe that out of all the p2p apps I've tried Limewire is the only one that works!

Is Limewire just set up differently?

Oh yeah, I know that torrents are different to Limewire. However thats about all I know.

Seems to me you are in heavy hostile (firewall) conditions...

Because LW has good UPnP support that let it go through routers and firewall?

Because LW supports firewall to firewall transfers?

So, you mean I should disable Norton Firewall and keep my SP2 Firewall up?

I don't think that is the problem though.

If LW works, why playing with settings? Of those you mention, only emule and bittorent are good. You could try Azureus for Bittorents it has UPnP support. For the ED2K network, I suggest eDonkey, it has UPnP AND firewall to firewall transfers. Of course on Guntella, nothing beats the Lime.
