Looking for a song. I know I've asked this before, but, so far, all I've received are replies as 'I don't know'. Surely there's someone that remembers this song. My memory thinks the singer is soneone like Gene Pitney, but I'm not sure about that. All I can remember for sure are these words: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Oh she's prettier than any angel Dressed in blue, with her new white gloves Oh there's nothing like going to Church on Sunday With the girl I love. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I'm going nuts with this. Please, someone help me. Dev Shant |

Not my genre of music, but what I do in this case is try to get the "hook" of the song, the title is of the song is usually somewhere in there and search for it at the following sites: http://www.seeklyrics.com/ http://www.lyricsfreak.com/ It may take some time, but you should find it. Hope this helps 'ya! |

I found this forum looking for the exact same song. I do have it on a VERY OLD and very scratched album, but would love to have it on CD. It is by Bobby Vee. I think you and I are the only people who ever heard it before. another verse is Holding hands and sitting close together with the sun shining from above Oh there's nothing like going to church on sunday, with the girl I love. I don't think it was ever released as a single; just a "filler" on the album. I would like to have it for my sis and bro in law for their 40th anniv. as it was "their" song. |

Going to Church on Sunday To: JustLookin & Devshant: While I'm not familiar with this song, I felt compelled to assist you in your lifelong quest to locate this song. I am very pleased to announce that my search was successful! First off, Devshant - you were right about the artist being Gene Pitney. I found out, however, that when the song was released in 1963, the recording artist were listed as "Jamie and Jane", a Male/Female Duo Act. Gene Pitney, of course, was "Jamie" (the Male Half of the Duo Act), and Ginny Arnell (his female counterpart) was "Jane". After tweaking some key words and phrases in my query, I struck gold and located a direct link to the song (in Real Player Format), which is listed below. http://www.terrificmusic.com/files/m..._on_sunday.ram At long last...your search is finally over :-) Enjoy! |

Thank you HappyHounds. I got extremely lucky because after finding this forum it increased my efforts to find it. I spoke with my favorite local DJ (who is a friend) of our local oldies station and he has the same Bobby Vee album I have and is going to make me a copy of it! But thanks so much for your effort! I love my oldies and that particular album I do have...but oh my it is in bad condition and no record player |
