In LW go to Tools>options>Connections>untick the box that says connect on startup and click apply

Edit: that will keep it from connecting but it will still run on startup.
To keep it from running on startup go to Tools>Advanced>System Startup>untick the box that says Run On System Startup. Then click apply.
