Yes funny. I tried the online installer yesterday and it worked.

One question though: Is it using a strip down core of LW? If so what parts are there, the download code for sure, but does it connect to Gnutella to search or is it redirected to a LW server so it receives alternative sources for the download mesh?

It's rare I ask a question here, but heh, for one time, help me!

Ciao

i have no idea. i dont have access to the source... i dont think they will be releasing it as GPL. but i do know one thing, its not java. that would be a problem for people who havent installed java yet. what i was told is that it retrieves the update XML from the network and always downloads the latest version by doing a search (sha1?) and sha1 verifying. the update XML uses pgp encryption for safe network updates.

humm, then I think they are using GnucDNA, that would be why zab said "Thanks J0hn" in the installer thread since GNucDNA writter is John Marshall.

That would be very paradoxal that a Gnutella clients uses another gnutella client to install itself
