How can I see exactly what files I am sharing?

Options /preferences >sharing> You will see a list of shared folders.

In the Limewire library is also a list of shared folders and you can open them and see the contents. On the latest Limewire this is a bit confusing as I think it shows ALL your musuc folders, but you cannot open the unshared ones which are in red... this is from memory as I went back to an older model

Thanks, not long had Limewire and have only downloaded 4 files. Looked in shared folders and again only showing 4. Limewire tells me I'm sharing 34! Is there a simple way to "show all shared files"?

4 is the number of shared FOLDERS The number 34 is the number of files in those folders. If you look in Limewire Library you will finf the shared FOLDERS and you can open them and see the FILES inside. But I think you have worked that out....and you haven't found the 34 files!

Now..... on the new limewire there is a default option, I think, to share all your newly downloaded files, whether they are destined for a shared folder or not. This maybe where the discrepansy lies. I dissabled this option when I was using the new version, and I am not quite sure where the files would show up. Sorry to be a bit vague but this may be what is happening. I guess I better start up the new version and have a look at it.

I shall do that later. Let me know how you get on!

Question Download Sharing Option

OK ... This is odd ... Have you tried shutting down Limewire and restarting it. Does your share return to 4??

I have installed 4.9.23 I set my options to sharing> Download sharing- checked. I downloaded a file desined for a folder I am not sharing and my shared count went up by one. Where exactly on Limewire the File went I do not know. I restarted Limewire and the count dropped again, so I guess I am not sharing the file anymore

Is this what is supposed to happen? and where was that file in the LW Library when I was sharing it??

Personally I think this option is a total waste of time Except that the host you are downloading from can see that you are the sharing it and not be tempted to block further downloads

Have checked library and also the two folders that Limewire says I'm sharing. Apart from Limewire itself, the other folder is my shared folder in Documents and Settings. It has only 4 files. Can only guess that I'm sharing my iTunes by default. There is no indication of this though.
Limewire still says I'm sharing 34 files!
Oh well.

Well I'm getting to the end of my supply of useful input, I'm afraid. I'm assuming you have restarted limewire.

Try the following, which may or may not work. Go to direct connect (with LW fully connected) and type in your own ip number, which will be obvious when you do it. Click seach and your shared files should appear as other hosts would see them. It may not work 1st time see what happens it might shed some light on the subject.

That worked. Listed all files in the Limewire program itself plus a few images and my own four files. Thanks
