Default Can't Browse Host(s)

I upgraded from version 4.8 to 4.9 a couple of days ago and can no longer get anything when I click the "Browse Host" button. Their IP address shows up, but no results appear. I mean on any of these hosts. With 4.8, I used to get at least 25% of the ones I tried- now nothing! I checked my preferences and nothing seems to have changed there since the upgrade. Anybody know why this is?

Hmmmmm I'm not sure that this has anything to do with the new version, ........but on reflection it might (although there may be firewall issues which I really have little grap of.)

You are saying thad you click "browse host and you get an empty search ie a complete search with zero results. ( or sometimes a search which dissapears after a few seconds ... these are I think when the host has gone offline.)
I do know what you are saying and I can't believe all these people are sharing Zero! although to be fair I still get a reasonable number of positive searches.

Hmm this DOES seem to be happening with 4.9.23 Anyone else any ideas.

I can't remember if I asked you before but just in case, I'll ask again. What do you think of the 4.9.23 version? Have you had any problems with it? I have the 4.9.7 and if the newer versions are anything like the one I have now I'd have no problems upgrading!

CS The 4.9.23 is obsolete. I gather it's the 4.9.27 now! .23 seems good to me but this thread has set me wondering if there is a slight problem on the browse hosts question. I'm sure you won't have problem's upgrading.

4.9.7 was one that totally passed me by. I went from 4.8.1 staight to 4.9.18 or so Beta, but I might yet go back to the 4.8.1 probably after an unproductive session which is no fault of Limewire's

OAH-
Here is what I am getting- The IP address shows, but no results come up. Sometimes, I get the "Could not browse Host" pop-up. That was normal before I updated, but in many instances, the progress bar stays blue when it gets to the end, and nothing shows- no pop-up or results.

YAAAY!!! I just downloaded .27 and it seems "Browse Host" is working normally again. It returned results on 3 out of 5 searches. Thanks Nutcracker for the tip, and thanks all for responding. -Jeff

4.9.7 for mac was not very good!!! On my windows it refused to even open.

A browse where you get an empty search despite it completing the browse is not something new. It also happened with LW 4.8.1 I guess it has something to do with traffic, etc.

I just upgraded to .27 and so far it's good. I had no problems with the 4.9.7.
