Default I'm a Technophobe Pleeeaze Help!!!

Ok here goes, I've spent hours reading all the threads on this forum and have great respect for all you guys who know what your doing, and have tried to rectify my problem following the various advise but got more confused (easily done!) and am now hoping for an easier solution! So after jumping on the band wagon of Limewire Library Deleters! I tried to do the PC Inspector retriever thing and got a whole list of gobboldy gook numbers which I tried to save somewhere and now I don't know where they are!! All my limewire music is in iTunes but cannot be played due to deleting them from Limewire and all the itunes are on my ipod! If I plug my ipod into itunes will it enable me to play the itunes music again? Will it erase the music on my ipod because it won't have the limewire link? or do I need a piece of software I've heard about to be able to upload my ipod tunes onto itunes in order for me to play them again? If anyone can make sense of what i've asked 'You're a better man than me!' except I'm a woman!! Thanks to anyone brave enough to reply!

Thank you so much for your help. I have downloaded 'ipod access for windows' from drew findley .com it looks like it will do the trick just got to find the confindence to try it!!! One last question Do you think it will duplicate my songs in itunes or just sychronise the files so I can play them instead of it saying 'the song ....... could not be used because the file could not be found' ? Sorry to be a pain!

I'm not quite sure. I suspect you will get duplicate entries and when you try to load them on iPod you will get an error mesage saying some files could not be found. They would show up with an exclamation mark and you can then clear them. Going to edit> show duplicate songs in iTunes could help there. On the other hand the software may do this for you .. Let us know!

I don't know how this software works but if it is possible perhaps you might be able to use it on a selection of songs only and if you loose them you will know not to use it on the others. Only as a precaution you understand!

Good luck

Hi,
I no i've been a long time getting back to you but I have finally sorted out my Limewire, iTunes, iPod problem!. I downloaded the software 'iPod Access' cost me a tenner but was well worth it. Basically I was able to copy all my songs from my ipod back into itunes so I could play them after deleting them from limewire! As you thought it did duplicate the songs on itunes but it was easy enough to delete the ones that I originally had but could not play. I could copy all songs or select certain ones and it tells you what keys to press when you plug your iPod into iTunes to stop it automatically updating and therefore losing songs! Its fab I would recommend iPod Access to anyone. It probably does loads more and there may be a way of doing it without duplicating that someone like yourself would understand but for a technophobe like me it did the trick!!
Thanks so much for your help and advise.

This page from Wired magazine rates some programs (the best rated one is freeware, others are shareware, etc), for transferring music to & from an ipod -
http://www.wired.com/news/technology/1,72132-0.html

also there is another program called Sharepod,

It's good to have options
