Default How Do You stop Hosts browsing you?

Hi Guys just a quick question.

How do you stop hosts browsing you, have searched the Board for this but nothing

Some people, you don't have the browse function or the chat, but others you have no chat, but can still browse, why is this.

Also their using limewire, not any of the other clients.

Happens in any version, have full access to network, on turbo

Also no probs with uploading or downloading

opened up the ports in my zone alarm firewall personally in advanced options

How can you tell if a host is browsing you and why don't you want someone to browse your files? Is it because you have files that you don't want other people to download? If that's the case, then you should stop sharing them if they're being shared.

the reasons
1. they had shutedDown their comps.
2. they are not sharing any files.

for the 2nd ones you can limit their acces to your computer:
tool->options->advanced->preferencing
change the files you must share... to 10...100 and drag the slider to Rarely

Keep in mind that sometimes hosts cannot be browsed because they are behind a firewall. That happens to me a bit.

Thanks guys for the fast replys

I Don't think it's because of firewalls, a lot of the host's i've been able to talk to say they had no problems browsing me, and they say that the've no blocks to stop them , but I Can't browse them, what is going on

Also I Can Not Get More than 10 Hosts no matter what I do, And I'm no computer virgin Been in them since 1974, been on the networks since the early 80s when I was downloading, well we won't say much more about that,
I've been getting 10 hosts no matter if i download video or mp3, I've tried well quite a few times, and the've come down, but why no more than 10 hosts.

The files has had 100s but still dls at 10 why is this, I also know about people online and not on line, that does not account for this

If you don't want to be browsed, being firewalled is the only way to go. There is no option in LW to stop other from browsing you.

Ciao

Thats not true when testing using Pro simultaneous starting 20 files they all start downloading with between 1 an 10 host per file depending on the availability of host for individual file.
