![]() I tried to post a complaint about redtape involved in a simple bug report by emailing the address on the home page of limewire.org and even that fails as below.... Subject: failure notice Message-Id: <200110111236.tsbt6i.d3m.37tiub1@thrush> Hi. This is the qmail-send program at limewire.org. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out. <feedback@limewire.org>: unable to find address feedback in project www, domain limewire.org --- Below this line is a copy of the message. Date: Thu, 11 Oct 2001 15:37:25 -0400 To: feedback@limewire.org Subject: Making it TOO HARD to give feedback! I have a simple bug/feature report to make and your site requires account setup and login and...WAY too much bureaucracy that puts out the message that you don't really want to get feedback. Supply a simple email address or a simple HTML form for bugs. Someone is going to have to interpret/analyse/categorize them anyway so *they* can put it in the protected bug-track program. Now the feedback: the LimeWire client doesn't allow one to specify a new name when downloading files with the same name (but with different content). It only allows you to cancel the download or overwrite the existing file, but not specify a new name instead. |

![]() Thank you for posting regarding this issue, and we will look into the problems with using the e-mail links on the limewire.org site. We have received several complaints regarding the exact behavior you mention, and I was just thinking this morning that a good solution would simply be to automatically rename the new file "cool photo" to "cool phot (2)" and allow the user to rename it later if they wish, but not affecting the original file in any way. We will likely be making this change for LimeWire 1.8. |
