How I handled it..... I also have had a run-in with said scammers. Kudos to those that have received refunds, I have been waiting for 2 weeks after being told that I would receive a refund. A note for those that actually manage to make contact with the company, here are some pointers I used (besides calling your CC Company). Keep in mind that I was a member for 3 months before asking for a refund! 1. Be direct and to the point like Edge said, don't be rude(I know, hard) 2. Check the website where you registered and read the fine print looking for "Satisfaction Guaranteed", "100% Satisfaction", or something to that effect and either print or save the page to your desktop. 3. Save any and ALL email you receive from them (I'll tell you why in a minute). In my situation, after I found I was scammed (mp3downloadhq) I blew it off for 2 1/2 months until I told myself that they weren't going to win. I managed to get ahold of a representative via a phone number posted on one of these threads. I asked for a refund and the guy laughed at me saying that it was 2 months too late, until I told him that I had asked for a refund a couple days after signing up (not really true but got his attention). I mentioned that I had the emails I received from support sitting right in front of me (also not really true). After a couple minutes of being on hold, most likely from the rep having to ask his supervisor (the guy eating Cheetoh's next to him on the couch) how they wanted to handle the situation, I told him I would be more than happy to send screenshots of the email (refer to Step 3 above). Again, I was put on hold. Upon his return I was informed that I would receive a FULL refund. I said thank you, have a nice day and hung up. Now, had he required me to send the non-existant screenshots I had to use an HTML editor, and even Word to an extent to alter the text/date/email address/etc. to conform to what may look like an official response from them. Then I took a screenshot of this edited email. Not really an honest way, but it was how I dealt with them. The lesson that I learned is that making "threats" in this matter, as apposed to "I'm gonna tear your head off and..." are much more effective. In this case, they probably knew that they don't track what they send or receive, hoping that the customer doesn't either. Simply informing them that I had such documents probably worried them and rather than prolonging the process they just refunded it. Just some random thoughts from me... |

I too have been scammed but the company that done it does not have live chat so my only option to cancel " 7 day free trial is to call tham" Cheers, kerjak. |

Update, help for Kerjak An update to my earlier post, which stated it was 2 weeks. I finally received my full refund about a week after my original post. Now, kerjak, details on the company is huge. What is their name, website, etc. make sure you make copies of the guarantee on their site. I'm sure that you will want to speak with them in person, but I'm also sure that they'll have some type contact info email, online form, etc. to inform them of your refund request. This is a MUST DO IMMEDIATELY!! I agree that calling may be required but you must get the ball rolling with the first email contact in the required time frame. These company's general switch numbers so often that if it comes down to it, you say that the number you called was no longer active. Another word of advice, every time you visit the site right down the contact information (phone, email, etc). You will be amazed at how fast and how often they change. This can be your advantage if you tell them a list of phone numbers that they have used. In wrapping up, you will more than likely need to call to get any where with these un-company's, but the fact that you showed an effort to contact them will go a long way to protecting your ***...ets.... Hope this helps, keep us informed...... Good luck, Venom |

Thanks for info guys. I can't find e-mail adress for these bunch of w#nkers and they don't have live web chat listed. Only way to contact them is to phone US and that will probably cost me just as much on phone bill. Their web address is MP3Musichq.com. I've contacted CC comapany and they will dispute but not holding out for a refund. Might get back the money I paid for "Pro" as this is technically theft. I got limewire just ended up paying £14.88 for the pleasure. CC company get about 3-4 calls per day about these and they advised they know what they are doing. They say they answer every call witinn 90 seconds, their toll free number is 1-866-978-5522. Feel free to call them and give them some abuse on my behalf. This is the link they use from Google http://www.mp3musichq.com/me/index.a...4&kw=limewire. Thet also have a 1OO% 7 day no quibble money back guarantee with a $9.95 handling charge which I never read originally. So that charge (£5.60) plus phone call to get it probably not worth bothering about. Never mind you live and learn. you know it's not so much the money it's my pride that's hurt, can't believe I got done like that. Thanks for the replies/advice fellow limewires. Cheers, kerjak. |

Kerjak If memory serves me, support@mp3musichq.com should be their customer service email addy. Almost all of the websites use the same anyway. ex. www.mp3musichq.com = support@mp3musichq.com www.allcoolmusic.com = support@allcoolmusic.com Fairly simple plan if you ask me. If you scroll down on the main web page, even the one you mentioned in your post, there is a Customer Service address there. Pump that addy into your email and plug away. Make sure you give them your order ID, total charges, etc. I just copy/pasted from the receipt I received in my welcome email. As a side note, these are the numbers for your site at the time of this writing. Check back in a week or so and see if they are the same. You might be surprised! USA Billing: 1-866-978-5522 (toll free) Tech: 1-408-512-1933 International Calls Billing or Tech Support, call: 1-408-512-1933 I would do it, I went after them after 3 months simply because of pride. Ask them how to unsubscribe and get a refund. Also, play as dumb as you can regarding the "handling charge". Contact the phone company and check to see the charges for making the call. I noticed they have an international number on there (1-408-512-1933), maybe give the phone company the number and see if they can tell you the charges...... Sounds like a lot of work, but to do nothing only makes these guys want to feed off the next person even more. Plus, the more info and experience that we put into this thread, the more it'll help the next person. Good luck |

Venom_3_12 After I posted last night night I got angry and thought don't care how much call is I WANT MY MONEY BACK. Called them on one of their numbers and got thru to a full answer machine, so didn't even get a chance to leave a message. Have e-mailed them today asking for refund(thanks didn't notice that e-mail address at bottom of their website). I'm going to call them again today on the international number you supplied. Not sure about time difference? Anyone any ideas? When I called last night it said on their site "advisors are waiting to take your call and they answer in 90 secs". My a#se. I'll keep trying though, beginning to feel like I don't mind spending £30 on phone bill to get my £25 back off them. Thanks for info/help. Cheers, Kerjak. |

Kerching, Kerching Called them today and I'm getting a refund in 10 days apparently. Spoke to "Jennifer", I sound more American, than she did. She told me I would get refund minus £5.60 "cancellation charge". I lied and told her i had a copy of agreement befor joining and that it never mentioned anything about cancellation charges. She kind of ignored this fact 3 or 4 times then I said fine I would be contacting my CC company. Did the trick, she said full refund in 10 days or so. If anyone has to call the States from UK checkout www.ringsid.com they will give you special dialling "prefixes" for international calls. The charges appear on your normal phone bill. For phoning Jennifer and her pals it will only cost 3p per minute total at anytime of the day. Thanks again people for all help/advice on this forum, appreciate it. Pity my first visit to forum was not of a "happier" nature because of these thieving twats. I can get on with using FREE limewire now. Cheers, kerjak. |
