DVD converting Help i read a post that was answered by cyber stalker but still ran into problems. I downloaded the movie file, usually avi, mpeg or mpg and it works fine using windows media player. than i realized i had to convert the file for home theater viewing and followed the advice of cyber stalker and went to divx.com, but it didn't work. I converted the file using the program and it didn't work on any of my 3 DVD players. What am I doing wrong? Is there a better way of doing this? am i downloading the right files? can i format the dvd any other way? Please help me out? |
There's some links here: CODECs list and alternate players for Movies where you can find an alternative program or a forum for dvd converting issues. ;) Burn your dvd's at low speeds & make sure they are in the appropriate format (UDF) & not a data disk. Also make sure your set-top player can play dvd-r's including the brand of media you're using. Some are brand sensitive. Experiment with a dvd-rw if your player can play those. |
thanks lord of the rings. i guess i will try some of that stuff out. i am new to burning dvd's. movies are much easier. I hope it works. lastly, is this site free. cuz i paid $50 us dollars for it last night? |
solved my problem my dad got a neighbour from down the street and he told me that i needed a different nero burning program (this one has some plug in that converts it automatically) thank u for your help. hope it works this time. |
You paid $50 for what? No way!!! Cancel the transaction ASAP thru your credit company. Your cc company should be able to deal with scam sites! They will no doubt have a special department that deals with that type of issue. You probably spoke to the wrong person who doesn't know much. The latest version of Nero with all the included plug-ins should be able to do the job! ;) :) |
