Question Help with burning DVD's

I am a newbie to this downloading stuff (check out another one of my posts where I got "membership" scammed - haha, no really it's not funny - I am an idiot)
But anyway...downloaded my first movie and then burned it to DVD, quality SUCKED...wasted a DVD, I'm just wondering, am I doing something wrong? The sound was like a whole 2 seconds past what the video was doing...and video was a bit cloudy...

Can someone help me...I downloaded from a file that said it was a T1, but I am cable, does that have anything to do with it?

Thanks for any help!

Thank you for that, that did help some...however I'm still having 2 problems even after using that. I did a forum search for answers before I posted but couldn't find what I needed.

Problem 1: I have spent much time downloading movies from a T1 or T3 connecton (I have cable) and after they are finished downloading and I go to watch them on my computer before I burn them, the film is very jerky and shakes. Why is this? Will it be ok after burned or will it burn the same way?

Problem 2: I've SUCCESSFULLY downloaded 3 movies now...two burned just fine after using VSO DivxToDVD, however the 3rd one said "PLAYBACK FEATURE NOT AVAILABLE ON THIS DISC" when I put in my home DVD player. I thought that particular disc was bad so I burned to another disc, same thing happened (this disc came from the same batch of discs where the other 2 movies were fine). Why did that happen?
