Breakup

Hi, I am new here, so...please go easy on me.
(I am also pretty much computer illiterate.) I just downloaded LimeWire PRO today, thinking that perhaps if I PAID for it, I'd get a better version that didn't have 'breakup'.
(GAPS in the songs). I dig LimeWire because the selection of songs is amazing; I've found a LOT of obscure songs on here.
I am running Windoze 98; could THAT be the cause of 'breakup'?
Any suggestions/feedback is most welcome.

If you are using the limewire player you will probably find all sorts of faults... It is not very good! If you are using a good player then there are some bad files out there and sadly many users do not check these before re-sharing ... so a lot of bad copies are out there. You may have to try a few copies to get a decent one, but in general this applies to modern popular rub... sorry songs

If you tend to go for the obscure stuff, as I do, this does not seem a big problem ... just on few tracks, and if it's very rare and there is only one "master copy" sadly the whole lot could be faulty ... Let us know if this helps.

So, what is a 'good' player, then? You mean to say I just WASTED $36.00 (CDN) for something that is not very good?

Guess I'll go back to using ARES then.

I DO hope that $36.00 translates to US$ 18.88!

IMHO iTunes and Win Amp are good players as are many others on the market ... well they are mostly free in fact.

The point is that Limewire is a p2p application and, (I fee along with thousands of others) a damn good one. A media player is not on the top of thir priorities for developing improvements, and their efforts are better put into p2p areas while they leave the media players to the specialists of that field.

Oh ....... might I ask where you got Limewire from as the normal cost of pro is $US 18.88

I got LimeWire from the Web; the ORIGINAL price is $18.88 US.
Add to that whatever "processing fee" they have and the final price is $25.50.

Ouch I don't really want to upset you again, but there should be no processing fee!
It seems like a third party scam site has sold you something under false pretenses.

Often the scam sites sell old versions and it would be interesting to know where you did get it from, as well as the version you have.(you will find this in Help>about ) The current version of Limewire is 4.9.28

If you have been sold a current version of pro, I am not sure if you will be able to get support for it from www.limewire.com,

No, I am pretty sure I got the real thing. To be sure, I clicked on the link you gave me and downloaded it again. My e-mail address was recognized, so...it must be the correct site.

Go to LW's menu bar, Help>About LW & see whether it says pro on the window (see sample below.) LW.org do not charge a processing fee!
