I'm not sure if they've updated the page but see http://www.limewire.com/english/cont..._history.shtml I updated from 4.9.28-9 without any concerns. |

It would be nice if there was an announcement page or something in the forums that could be used soleley for announcements of all new versions and the modifications. I notice that the LW site features history has been updated to include .29 but there was no notification of the update (which I selected in preferences). I updated excitedly hoping to find the download priority feature you said there was lotr and I've found it! that's cool. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=45077 and it's not listed in the features history |

Re: what is a service release When they go from 4.9.28 to 4.9.29 or 4.8.0 to 4.8.1 Major release would be 4.8.1 to 4.9 or 4.9.29 to 5.whatever I believe betas are the first release of a major release. Kind of a tester release. If I am wrong, anyone, please correct me, because I'm really pulling this out of my @$$ |

Ok ... Beta's are the releases for the foolhardy explorers to use. They are the prototype versions complete with bugs and will go on being produced until the bugs are ironed out and a version appears that is not going to cause the normal user [much] problem Major releases are the finished product for the normal user to use. (Ithink) I can't quite suss out what defines the service release. So 4.9.29 may not be the Major release I thought it was ... maybe it is a service release. I practiced what I preach and did a search, but came up with some pretty interesting posts from 3 years ago instead so I still haven't got the answer. |

Various Releases Well Guys I don't really mind whether various releases of LW(Pro) are major, minor or service I'm just glad to see the back of Ver. 4.9.28, it has been the most unstable release I have ever installed. UK Bob |
