damn, i always thought people would do whatever they had to do to get something for free instead of paying for it. research is a necessity on the net. thats what its intent was. (and to create a redundant super-network)

The poor kid (Black_Hawk223) let his enthusiasm get the better of him, unfortunately his mother could still be loosing money because the scam site could be extracting small monthly amounts for fictitious purchases.

You will admit that what you did was wrong, handing your mum's financial info over to scammers, but, as Grandpa said, own up to it now so that your mother can stop a potential financial haemorrhage.

Remember, the scammers don't care whether you or your family can afford it or not, it's just easy money for them (money for nothing).

And the lesson learned, no matter how clever you think you are there are bigger, craftier crooks out there waiting to sneer the naive and gullible. And also, only deal with reputable companies, having a big flashy web-site and/or adverts doesn't mean the company is any good.

my point wasnt trying to be sarcastic or cynical in anyway. im just shocked (but not all that suprized) that anyone would hand over money without researching it to get the better deal (paying for something that is free and outdated). being wise about your money is one thing. but putting someone elses financial credit or the loss thereof in jeopardy without paying close attention to the risks without making smart decisions is very bad thing. this goes for everyone, not just him. but in the end, hopefully you learned, aswell as your mother, to not be so naive and trustworthy. i wouldnt let my child make any transaction without me doing it for him. and i certainly would want to make sure its going to the right place.

Agreed, I should have been more on tiop of my game on this one, however my refund is in the mail, thanks for introducing me to the word of scam.
