limewire 4.9.29

hello i wonder if anyone out there can help me in the last couple of months being with limewire. i have downloaded a couple of avi video files that when try to play them backthe picture pixelates and has discolouration. this only seems to happen on avi files.

i have download TMPGEnc 2.5 file convertor but on some of the files when i try to use this convertor it displays a message which is the file name followed by cannot open or unsupported

is there any way around this

any suggestions please

So you're wanting to burn these videos? I presume that's the case if you're using TMPEnc. Normally for viewing I'd recommend VLC which has in-built codecs. Pixelation can be due to poor encoding by the person who originally encoded it ... such as using a cheap & nasty poor quality encoder program or codec or they don't know about how to do it well.

For viewing get GSpot to find which codecs you need (though I still recommend VLC for backup purposes if you have viewing problems.)

As for encoding, TMPEnc has had high praises at videohelp.com There are forums which discuss these types of issues. Have a look at CODECs list and alternate players for Movies & also the links at the bottom of the 1st post. Sorry I'm a mac person when it comes to video conversion so most of the programs are totally different (Mac specific brands.)
