I've had quite a few files resume in 4.9.33 (and earlier). I've had lots that don't resume. I just depends on whether the host is available, still has the file, and isn't too busy. Take a look at the graphs at http://www.limewire.com/english/content/netsize.shtml There are a million people jumping on and off the network (even though the stats are not very reliable just now). Just my luck to get part of a file from someone who is jumping off |

SPhinx, i have the same problem when the newest version of limewire didnt resume. I have a hunch that when we remove limewire (oldest version) the .limewire folder still there cuz it in different directory. So the newest version possible have a conflict with some codes in the oldest version .limewire but still use them, so it make think that Limewire cannot resume the file. so the only solution is to delete .limewire, then the whole setting, the perference is resetted, back to default which mean the resuming in newest version in Limewire can resume the file. it really strange that newest limewire dont resume it until you delete your .limewire, then it should be back to normal |

there was a case where newer incompletes couldn't be resumed if a user went back to 4.8.1 (I think there may have been similar situations with later versions) However, I don't recall a problem moving ahead to versions. [edit: correction--there was a problem with 4.9.7, but it was fixed http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...&postid=147360 ] Last edited by stief; October 16th, 2005 at 04:28 PM. |

well, not really. The 100K can accept incoming connections (ports forwarded; firewalls properly set up, work or university or ISP allowing filesharing, etc, etc). The others can share their files, but it requires a lot more work to make them available. The ones that can't accept incoming connection show as red IP's in the "location" column (if turned on), and they share many files. |

I never would delete the .limewire, ever! These are only song files, no biggie. Just that If they're in the incomplete what I usually have to do is delete them and try again. Its a pain but I get em eventually. also I never uplgrade over an old install, I always make sure to start fresh and clean to avoid problems. I freshly installed .30 and to tell the truth, not real happy with it. |

Ive never done it but in your document & settings folder is your .limewire folder I think thats what they're talking about. bur dont do it unless you read what the others have posted about it or you could screwup your settings by deleting it. I could be wrong about this. |

What Documents and Settings stand for is it just store the setting from a certain program. deleting a .limewire wont ***** up cuz .limewire and LimeWire folder have no connection at all. they not even linked. Limewire just use .limewire for setting. Deleting .limewire will put your limewire back to default which means themes, filters, perference will go back to default. If you are worried about screwing up LimeWire, just copy .limewire and paste in somewhere else, just backup the .limewire then delete .limewire, then LimeWire will be back to normal as new I done this before and it didnt ***** up mine cuz .limewire and LimeWire is not linked, they just seperated directory (AMEND) ^%#% FILTER!!! I DIDNT USE A SWEAR WORD!! MY GOD FILTER IS SO DUMB! All i said is s c r e w in that asterisk. Last edited by DarkSorrow; October 16th, 2005 at 10:50 PM. |

Like Ive said, Ive never done it nor do I touch any of my Limewire folders. Like I said in my previous post, I dont fool around with any of it. Ive never had any reason to delete any folders and or limewire files whether in the doc settings folder or in my program folder. I dont want limewire to go back to default, I have my settings set in a certain way. Took a peak inside both folders. the one in the doc settings contains the samething as programs but, it also contains registry settings so, what do you do if you delete the .limewire folder and you need those registry keys? sorry, I still wouldnt do it. not worth it to me. I cant see how it would run without the proper files and or folders intact. |
