What kind of sick mouther posts files to be downloaded with the wrong Title. I use a lot of time downloading - Movie - DVD - 2003 the incredible hulk new divx.avi, just to find out that it is some sick movie about drugs. The time that I waste to download a bad movie not only wastes my time but also slows downloads for everyone else. When someone gets caught doing this, their membership should be cancelled. I would like to tar and feather them.

Whilst I fully applaud your sentiments, I feel cancelling their memership would be hard, as there is no such thing as signed up membership for the Gnutella network:confused:

2. Fake movies & why

3. Movie download issues

4. Learn to use Bitzi to see if there's any user feedback on that particular file; How to use Bitzi Web Lookup ...

5. Previewing what you're downlding can help you to discover whether the content & quality are what you're seeking.

i only use Limewire for music , and i occasionally get this with songs

although its not quite the same, as a song takes no longer then a couple of minutes to download

Me I just try to rename the files to what they are....that is if i keep them...and useally if got a file won't open for me and i want to play with it later....i also add can't open and play for me to the name....then will try working with it at a later time....then i also add delete to the file name i plain on getting rid of ...then comeback at later time and use my norton clean sweep to overwrite the file......yea i just don't delete....then sometimes i down load and don't check it for days to see if it's good or bad..
but wish everybody would truely name the files........RIGHT....

I'd rather download a movie about drugs then the crap I encountered. I found this movie that's based on a video game that I have and I downloaded about 40% of it when I had to log off. So I decided to preview it to see how it looked. I skipped the beginning and what do I see infront of me? Some woman getting it up the rear! DISGUSTING!!:mad: Needless to say that got deleted!

actually its not really funny because I got zapped with a virus with a wrongly named album. Wrong titles are a pain in the ***. :rolleyes:

thats why i never turn off my norton....and work two hard drives..80 gig master with op on it ...and all that i use my 200 gig massive storage slave as my fileing cab for my down loads
and ...that way if i do down load something norton can deal with it before it gets to my op system...

I never turn off me AV thats how I knew it was wrongly named and the AV detected it as a large piece of software that was infested, renamed as an mp3 album. My AV has saved my HD more than once. ;)

Oh I have no doubt...why you thik i also run two drives...besides haveing all the storage space....hehehe

I wasn't impressed because I had that movie downloading for almost two hours. If I had known what kind of movie it was I would've cancelled it and looked for some songs to burn.

Yes same here, I was downloading a movie for my kids to find after hours of doing so it was a porno, wasn't I pissed off , now I always check the file with bitzi if it's not rated I don't download it.

ahh i had that with a file called war of the worlds (tom cruise) divx (and something more) so i burned this file to a disc (it didn't contain a virus) and put it in my dvd/divx/xvid/mpeg/whatever you can think of player for my television and i started watching, what i got was a half the movie: the excorcist the beginning.

ohh well, i watched that till it ended halfway (right at the good part :( :P)

Spewing, thats why I always use bitzi they let you know if it is a geniune file or not... catch ya :D

I do understand where you are comming from as even though i do watch porn from time to time....I want to know the true name of what i am down loading....especially if it is a file i want to check out...only to find don't have what i want to watch...just yet...and since it seams like this thread is for a little snivelling....

What ****'s me off more than a wounge named file....is here i have someone DL a file off me...thats fine...but when i am kind of bored and just looking for things i might want to down load...so here i click on him (or her) cool says i can browse the host...so here i try ...only to get the error of can not browse this host...my files are good enough to DL and look over but yet don't want me DL off of him.....

It probably isn't that the people you are DL from are stopping you from DL from them they probably do not even know you are trying to DL from them. I myself share allot of files when I am home 24/7 and many of them are very popular my Q is always full and if I happen to be DL from tmem and they want to DL from me I would not even know since my Q is always full and therefore no slot available for them. And since the chat does not work in LimeWire there is no way for anybody to contact me and ask if they are even in my Q or could I start them.

That is one feature I really miss from WinMx the chat feature worked very well in WinMx. If I was DL from someone and they browsed me they would send a message and ask if I would start them and I always did.

Maybe one of these days they will get the chat feature fixed in LW but until they do you will just have to wait if you see something you want from somebody you browsed until the have a spot for you in there Q. And hope they don't go offline before you complete.

GOT a question...you on the afterdawn board too...???like told you am fairly new to useing pc's and need a little help an playing and burning some files that say they are avi but won't burn or play through nero....and of coarse a couple other things....you know how a mind can be....my problem there is when looking there ....i get side tracked on other things and never find what i am looking for.........

if you want help burning some files, i can help you out. just start a new thread relevant to the question and explain EXACTLY what the problem is. also include relevant info like burning software (and what version), operating system, what kind of burner you have etc. etc.
