Default New User - extremely aggravated

I am a new user to Limewire - I have installed it on my computer twice - the last time paying for it. However, it is connected to the internet but after I search for the songs and hit DOWNLOAD - nothing happens. I have read the FAQ and done everything it said. I have WINDOWS XP. I am fairly computer literate and used Kazaa for about 3 years so I know how to download and burn. I am also 38 years old - not a child - does anyone have any suggestions ? I would appreciate a response dearly !

See if this helps. If not come back with more details of your equipment, firewalls, Virus protection etc.

Default Thanks Hobo !

Actually, before your post, I read further and found to check my ports and IP address as well as a few other things and then boom, it worked. I have downloaded about 10 songs already. I am excited - only because where I work, we sell internet and I am sitting on broadband - at home, I live in a wonderful "back in the woods" setting with modem capabilities only - which drives me nuts. Patience is not even the word. Anyway, thanks for responding. However, since you were so kind to respond - guess what - I cannot figure out how to get these songs out of Limewire onto MY MUSIC TO BURN on my computer. This is totally different from Kazaa as I said before and I am just a dumb ole chic trying to burn her some Christmas Music to give out to friends. Can u help once again ?

Glad it's working!

You need to decide what folder you want the music to go in to. Go to Limewire options or preferences > saving and see what your save folder is and go to that folder and move the songs to your desired folder. Then alter the save folder to your desired folder and all new downoads will go into it. I hope this helps. I have no experience with Kazaa so no idea how this compares.

Your probably outside right now stoking up the steam generator Sounds great!

Default THANKS AGAIN

I feel a little "blonde" right now but .... that's what these forums are for - help.
Actually - I said I live in the woods - may as well but not really - I live in NW Florida - which here is known as the "Panhandle" - 10 miles from George and Alabama - but a beautiful place to live as we love the water and do alot of boating.
Steam - yes - we have alot of humidity as well as HURRICANES !!!!!! But the only generator I own is on our houseboat - which provides alot pf peaceful rides.
What area do you live ?
OK - thanks for the info - as I said, Kazaa is far more simple but from what I understand much more dangerous for viruses and harm to your computer.
Thanks for your help, Mr. Hobo - I appreciate it.

Well I think you've taught me something. I know there's a song called the Panhandle Rag, and I shall now give it a good listen I realise now it must be about your part of the world, as I always thought it was an odd title for a song before!

I live in South Wales. The bit between England and Ireland. Not I think as exciting as your part of the world and a lot colder and damper. Mind we don't get too many hurricanes here . .......... I hope you have not been badly affected recently

Talking Not affected by the hurricane

Thank goodness - the main area of devastation this time was South Florida (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton). It really has been rough though the last few years.
Panhandle Rag ? Never heard of it but very interesting - I will have to search on my newly installed Limewire. So far with Limewire, so good, thanks for your help. I am trying to download some Christmas music now because I like to pass out CD's to my friends and we also do alot of Karaoke.
I must admit, I have never e-mailed anyone out of the country before and it is very interesting - although I do have a very close friend that lives in Hong Kong.
Have a great weekend !
