Every time I load Limewire, my computer slows down. It stays that way even after I close the program and make sure that I am disconnected from the internet.
The only way to speed it back up is to reboot the computer. I have a Sony Viao running 1.7MH with Windows MX. Any ideas why?

and what do you mean with slow down?
like loading times get higher or what?

How much of ram do you have? on your sony

ahh, he's right there, java is a recource hogger and if you also tend to run Norton Internet Security, then your screwed totally if you don't have a **** load of ram.
