Default xvid codec problems for wmp 10

Please Help! i downloaded a xvid codec for wmp10 from http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/ the problem is whenever i log off my computer or shutdown and restart, wmp will not play the .avi file movies without re-installing the codec. The codec is listed in my programs list, but doesn't seem to work after shutdown? any suggestions? How about a different codec from someone else that works?

You could try using a different media player, Some have the codecs built in like DivX player or VLC media player (choose nearest mirror site.)

Here's a thread with more info: CODECs list for Movies /Alternate players / Video help forums
