I have watched this thread from a distance, and it's had me a bit confused too

Anyway, I'm glad everythings working, but please make sure you are always up to date with anti Spyware and virus checks.

As for not being able to find things you want, unfortunately, you must just hope that someone out there has what you are looking for , AND is on line! A bit of patience pays off, as well as searching at different times of day, etc.

Sounds like to me the file you downloaded was probably a adult video with a browser hijacker implanted in it. It is pretty common for adult video to have hijackers implanted in them. I do not know if you tried to reset you Internet explorer to default settings or not but allot of times that will cure the problem any you will not have to reformat.

you name it i tried it? nothing worked at all, and i still dont know what it was to this day wat it was. i am good with computers i have built this one up from a shell, and the last one i had too, so i know a lot about them and how they work, but this whatever i had was a bad one, i have not seen anything that can knock out explorer and provent you from fixing it in any way, or even stop you from viewing web pages that could fix the problem like this one

but it would let me view it then it wouldnt let me upload any tools that would have got rid of it. but now i am up and runing again i have put them all onto disk just in case it ever happens again as i lost a lot of my personal picks of my kids and my youngest when he was born as he was 3 months early and nearly didnt make it. so as you can see i was kind of annoyed at it all..
i have a very good anti virus and spyware blocker now, along with the best fire wall money can buy. and i have put in a seperate hard drive to store files on that i dont want to loose, so i hope i have covered all arias!
i lost both my web sites that took me 4 months to build, and lots of other things that i could never replace, but thats what you get i guess when you dont think it will happen to you.
