Help I hope someone can help me, recently I downloaded the Limewire 4.9.37. I started to download some videos as my friend encouraged me. However after a few days of downloading. The program started to share files. When I began to noticed that it was sharing files the figure was about 2000. I was not sure what that meant but I knew I didn't downloaded that many files. Well, after a little investigating I found out that my computer is being used as a place where items is being stored. Recently a notice came from the computer explaining that I was running out of space (Low Disk Space). I estimated the the program is now using about 2.5 Gig of memory space. Can someone help me in gaining back my computer. I don't mine so much to share files that I have downloaded but being used like a server is a different thing. Someone please contact me at dwoodham@hotmail.com This monster needs to be tamed. Thank you armstrong |

Exactly what files are you storing? And do you have fully up to date anti virus and anti spyware protection Do you have the basic version and did you pay for it, and if so where? or get it free from www.limewire.com? E-mail addresses should not be displayed in the forums, mainly for your own protection. See forum rules. |

Help [reloaded] I was downloading some adult videos along with some music video. At the time I did have up to date anti virus but no any spyware protection. I downloaded the basic version from www.limewire.com. Do you have any further help for me. I had to shut down the program because it was taking more and more of the computer's memory. Thank you armstrong |

What kind of machine are you using? (as Hobo says, the forum rules give examples of the kinds of info that helps). On OS X, for example, it's sometimes necessary to shutdown the machine after a few days of LW running continuously. This frees up the Virtual memory that slowly eats up disk space. You can control and see what files/folders are shared, in the Library Pane. |

i was wondering what these extra files were that you had acquired ... but also I think you should run an anti spyware programme on your computer, as it seems you have picked up something peculiar, This thread might give you some clue as to what might be going on. and has useful links for useful protective software http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=41432 |

See if you have a hidden folder called C:\Uploads. I went through something like this a while back, and the virus responsible creates that directory, makes it hidden, and uses your computer as a massive file-sharing database without your knowledge. PITA. |
