Default Grokster forced to shut down

The Supreme Court ruled against Grokster and the file sharing site anounced that it is shutting down. How does this impact on Limewire???????

Probably in the near future, but 4.9.37 is still working fine Perhaps LW were waiting to see what Grokster actually did ... Just a guess. but Frostwire will continue the Limewire tradition, if Limewire takes the road that is expected.

er ... yes you can run Limewire on 1 computer and Frostwire on another in the house, but you cannot run the two applications sumultaneously on one computer.

When you say Limewire pro has "screwed my basic package up" I'm not atall sure what you mean, ........ but I'm tempted to ask how much did this Limewire pro cost??

If it was the ligit pro version and you installed it properly, it wouldn't have screwed anything. Limewire runs very smoothly during an install.

as for this little P2P app: Queen once sang: "Another One Bites The Dust."

sorry to see it go. I used to use this.

I read where Grokster would not be offering any more downloads of their program, or updates. Does this mean that the program itself can function independent of a central "hub" or mother site? Can Limewire exist and function independently of it's head office or can it be shut down?

Khubla, Limewire has no central server, fo afaik, Closing down the company and stopping Limewire distributing software tomorrow would not have an imediate effect on the Gnutella network afaics. I could be wrong and welcome corrections.

Reddia, you say your package has been screwed, and with respect this covers a multitude of sins I really have no idea what you mean, and you have given us no useful facts.
