Shared file error

Hey Guys, I've had a bad afternoon with my computer, and I was wondering if someone can help. When I go into my shared folder outside of LW (in docs and setts) I keep getting the message of,windows has an error and must close down, send error report, I've done this so many times and once or twice it has come up with something along the lines of a bug and then it suggests an error report and then freezes the computer, I've done a full AV system scan and everything is clean, I have no idea what to do now?
Any help would be greatly appreciated:confused:

If you are moving files out of the shared folders, it might be due to the files being uploaded at that time. Thus, it causes an error. I guess it's like trying to delete a file that's being shared/uploaded. Perhaps close LW at the time you want to move files from those shared folders. Either that or temporarily unshare the folder/file(s) you want to deal with outside of LW. Is this a reasonable guess?

Hi LOTR, I was hoping it would be you to lend a hand, I knew you were on here from the time display on another thread. But LW is closed and all I mentioned before happens as soon as I open up my user file (if that makes any sence). What do you think? Thanks again for your time.

Windows is not my mainstream OS, so I'm not sure. But I would run whatever file & system utilities you have to see if that sorts it out.
Another option is the admin control panel (off-hand I can't think of the name of it.) Make sure all permissions are correct. I think we need more input here. Ah ... just thought of someone who can help. Norbie! He is very good at sorting out these types of issues. Get a link to his forum in point #5 (very bottom of page) here: WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of! He is based in UK by the way.

A thumb's file? Not a clue! It's not a zip file is it? There's thumbnails which are image icons of image files.

Strange these thumb files have appeared after downloading avi files and I have managed to delete two of them but the system wont let me delete the last one and norton wont scan it, it said it cant, and if they have something to do with graphics, thats where my problems began today with the graphics driver (the comp totally went scewiff and an error report came up).Thats when my user file went bung. I'm so bloody confused with all of this:confused:    :confused:Oh and no there not zip files, I wont go near those.

Hi LOTR, I fixed the problem and I worked it out on my own (Im a bit proud of myself lol:D), I studied the error report and took the code from that it was xvid.ax that was causing the system to freeze so I did a search and manually deleted it, and now everthing is back to normal, except for the thumbs in my saved file and when I did a search in LW there are about 200 odd files and its showing I have about 180 of them, I dont know what it means does anyone...

Anyway just thought Id let you know the outcome ;)
