![]() I got one of the video iPods yesterday for my 18th Birthday. The only thing is videos I have in Quicktime cnat be converted to the iPod w/o Panther OS X 10.3 Do any of my fellow mac users want to lend a hand for some Panther 10.3 software. This will allow me to upgrade to Quicktime 7 which is very good to have with the new iPod. At one point 10.3 was available for free and then you had to purchse the software My current version is 10.2.8 OS X Thanks, Besides that I love it! Apple is great and they are more than ever being competitive with their products. |

![]() Well i found a software for 10.2 version through someone and it is converting most of my vids so far the picture is awesome on the screen. I am still gonna have to buy Tiger (not Panther it is no longer sold). My QuickTime needs to be updated to Pro. It will cost me but I'll have to. I have a HP GOF Trailer & some music videos all crystal clear. |

![]() It would be very helpful to others if you could tell how you imported your vids to iTunes & iPod. These are example queries: 1. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...unes+and+video 2. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...unes+and+video As I suggested, I don't have a video compatible iPod so I can only check within iTunes. BTW Happy 18th!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() Apple does list the requirements as 10.3.9 or later, so there might be nothing to help you but that upgrade. I've been using ffmpegX which is phenomenal for making iPod compatible videos. And they have a version that will run on 10.2. One note. You have to use the PSP preset to make a video that will run on the iPod. That video preset automatically makes the output 320x240. But if the dimensions of your source video were anything other than 4:3 then the output will be distorted, so you need to change the output back to the right ratio. Also, the iPod can actually support MPEG-4 video up to 480x480. It does you no good if you are watching on the iPod, but if you plan to plug the iPod into a TV to watch, then encoding the video at the higher resolution will give you better output. Still, once you make the video's, there is no guarantee that you'll be able to get them on the iPod if you don't have the right version of iTunes and the Mac OS. Good luck. Loren This was from a member of a mac related site and it may work for you. It worked for me play with it a bit and see what comes up. When you go on the site go to the forum and click latest news thread my post is in there under Josh06. Hope it works out ok, Josh YourMacLife Last edited by jgb 15; November 11th, 2005 at 10:25 PM. |
