Limewire problem
 

I have a problem when i try to download anything on Limewire, it never used to happen before, but it started on 4.9.
When i try to download something a message comes up saying:
"Limewire is unable to find a licence for this file. Download anyway?
Please note: Limewire cannot monitor or control the content of the Gnutella network. Please respect your copyright laws."

I am weary about the copyright part so i havent clicked yes or no yet and i don't know what to do or how to fix the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

I read that but I don't fully understand it.
If i tick yes, it's saying that i could get in trouble?
But if i click no I can't really download anything?

So I'm kind of confused...

1. What will happen if I download the "wrong file"?
2. If i tick yes, how will i be able to tell which files are OK to download?

Its hard to say, it depends what you are after but if you ticked no before and you were not getting any results it must mean the file requires a license. Look I think you will be ok, I have read on this forum, stay under a 1000 files, were only small fish that way. what can I say just watch what you are doing.

You silly person.... There is no way for limewire to find you just download anything you want. Limewire can't really stop you.

It is not LimeWire who will be looking for you it is the IRRA and yes if they want to they can trace you through your IP address. You silly boy

I'm not sure that the RIAA could give a toss about kiddie porn. It's not as if they are upholders of the morals of the community, or the record industry for that matter. They dont get royalties for kiddie porn so why should they care. Now the F.B.I and other police forces ............. that could be a different matter.

Yer well i hate to tell ya but tha spinx fella is right. except for the virus part. It is all about knowing what to download and the amount of hosts avalible on the file. Besides most viruses a caught the second they get on my comp and they dont really do alot of damage. I have shields a protection for this crap. And if you ask me if ur stupid enough to download a prog with the wrong file size (eg soposed to be 320mb but is 851.7kb or similar or just way off your estimate) you deserve to get a virus.

I'll tell you a little secret about stolen, pirated software, it's there for the taking because it's demo versions, with hacks/cracks/viruses/trojans lurking inside the software, it doesnt matter what size it is either. You can download the largest file size which would be an iso extension and it could still be infected with a nasty virus that your AV might not pickup.


Also, I find it amusing that people from other countries think they are immune to copyright law. Software makers DO care abou
their software being stolenwhether or not you think so. Just because it's there for the taking doesn't make it legal for you to download it and just for the record, I AM A FEMALE!!!! :D

It illegal to download music....... It's illegal to download software....... It's ilegal to download most video clips on it....... Documents are usually .doc files containing serials...... In fact the only thing thats legal is pics and most pics are easier found on the net (www no p2p servers)....... So unless ur downloadin' kiddie prn u got no reason to go on limewire with ur anti-illegal ways

Random 111 It surprises me the number of forum users who use Limewire for Legal uses ... There is for instance a huge ammount of public domain music out there. Personally a lot of the music I share is perfectly legal, and the rest falls into a slightly murky grey area. And that is my story and I'm sticking to it when the judge asks me.

But you really have no need to come on here insulting people. Civilized debate can be conducted without resorting to rudeness.

There are many legal files for those who wish to search for them. Also there is the direct connect which people can use to transfer files between themselves. Both of these are legal things that can be done with LimeWire.

Any way I would give a little advice here before you get banned watch the language, Do not talk about Illegal actives, and try and be civil for a change. Although the last comment is not just for you even though you are the one provoking the behavior.
