I have been using Limewire basic for a couple of months. It seems
to work ok. My question is "Is it worth it to pay $18 to go Pro?"
Any feedback on the performance difference would be greatly appreciated.

Not Really its sorta a rip off

You pretty much get the same thing with a bit faster downloads a might i say limewire pro could at least filter out virus files (851.7kb files). If you got T1 - T3 or higher its more worth it cause you can download at bout 100 - 200 kb/s. And another thing y doesent limewire filter better all round i never want to see adult content but always see although i have told limewire to filter it out. One last thing... Some of the things with licences on pro are viruses. So no your probably better off not paying for pro.

LimeWire pretty much promotes illagal dowloading (Ok so they don't "promote" it they dont do anything about it either) So just mak'em a victim of their own promotion

The statement was meant to who it was titled to.

Whether Pro is worth the $18.88 or not is a matter of opinion and connection type and the type of files you are downloading.

If you have a fast connection and DL files that are rarer then Pro usually will find more sources thus theoretically faster DL. If you are on dial-up or some other slower type connection you probably will see no improvement.

I am on cable and I am capable of DL at 600Kbs. I have run Pro and basic at the same time on numerous occasions and have always done slightly better with pro but even if I did not I would still run pro just because I applicate what the LimeWire developers have done in the development of P2P software.

Look mate I dont really give a flying F**k wat people think and dont really care wat u think. honestly people who steal software are in the wrong and really don't comdone it but the fact is you can never stop it. People will always do it and there nothing i can do about it. Now back to the subject at hand. lime wire ins't worth it. Kazaa is more worth it beacuse when u upgrade the spyware is taken off your computer and thats why people only have the pro version if they buy it cause with both versions on it you get spyware and thus preventing any sort of trafficing of illegal kazaa. Now im not saying that limewire should have spyware like kazaa but the fact is if you had a lock so that you couldent have more then two versions of limewire it would work a treat.

There should be a stickie made up stating that anyone who takes advice from Random111 is crazy lol

downloading software is risky business...end of discussion...for those that get virii/worms/trojans, you only have yourself to blame really...and of course this includes downloading a supposed copy of Pro...

other than that, I have to agree with the concept of poetic justice in regards to it all..hahahaha
