You probably need to download codecs to play the other types of files. You may want to consider downloading another media player. Here's a link with info on codecs and other media players. CODECs list and alternate players for Movies

I've had no problems installing codec pacs onto WMP10...now, I have noticed that when it gets updated via Micro$haft, it looses all those codecs and they have to be reinstalled..at least they did on my old system...I let it update this time before I installed any codecs, and its working just fine

Personally, I hate version 10 and I never let it update, ever. I dont like the idea of MS updating anything concerning my main player.

I thought version 10 had the DMC Act or that copyright protection crap on it? No thanks, I'll stick with 9x and all my little codecs, plays everything.
