![]() Have used DivxToDVD on many occasions to convert files, among them lots of .avi files. Now I have one that will not convert. The message I get from DivxToDVD is "Can't open input file C:// Doc....etc." then "MSG Level #0-unknown stream type 73627573". Windows Media Player will play the file, audio only, with a message about codecs not being installed. However, VLC Media Player will play both video and audio. Installed a beta version of Xvid2DVD only to have it freeze every time I try to open the file. Can anyone advise 1) How I can determine what is missing in order to convert with DivxTo DVD, or 2) any other way to convert the file. Or (as an afterthought) advice on a forum to approach to find a solution. Thanks. |

![]() Which version of DivX do you have? There may be an update. Which burner program do you use? I believe Nero 7 & latest Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator are good at converting the newest avi types. Another option is TMPG (read the user feedback link to get an idea). There's lots of alternatives at that site. BTW I think VLC will tell you what A/V streams format it's playing (but not specific.) Under info.

![]() G'day LOTR. Thanks for your reply. (By the way, is that penguin drunk?) I've been using Version 0.5.2.99...quite an oldie but it's done everything I've wanted...until now! I loaded the latest version, and it doesn't recognize the format. By the way, I took your tip to open 'properties' and the codec is Xvid. I loaded TMPGEnc. It worked fine...except something happened to the audio track. It suddenly stopped after a few minutes. I'm still working on it...have downloaded 7 or 8 new apps I didn't know existed! We'll get there!!!hopefully! Thanks again. |
