Default Best Reliable souce for java

i am looking for site to best update my java...

the question is is there any java site that theses programs are based off of... and if so what java source do anyone recommend. i dont want to get a java update from a bad source with viruses or worst a source that might not work with all java based programs with poorly written java sources with memory leaks, etc.... i am not a developer i just the best to run applications.....

i know there is:

java.sun.com
NetBeans IDE + JDK 5.0 Update 5
J2EE 1.4 includes JDK 5.0
JDK 5.0 Update 5 includes the JVM technology
JRE 5.0 Update 5 includes the JVM technology

Find your existing java in your add/remove programs and there should be a link their for a web site, go and check that out and see if that has the info you need....

Hope this helps.....

i am just wondering if i am getting my updates from a reliable source... that isnt poorly written or have any extra added to it like spyware. i just want something to run in the background that isnt going to suck up to much memory when i am not using java based programs, i know internet browers use java time to time and i am fine with that. but i am worried about where i am getting my source from. also it would be nice if theses java based application provide a link to the source that they base their programs off of
