Default DVD compatibility problems- plz help

Ok,
I'm new to the site and have just downloaded my first movie. The download went fine and i now have the proper codec's for it to play on my computer.

My question is, how do i make it compatible so i can view it on my DVD player. I can burn it to a DVD fine, but my DVD is not reading the DVD correctly. I did some investigating and came up with this suggestion.. My question is, do i really have to do all this? Is there an easy way to make these compatible? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Here is what another site is telling me that i need?

" A SVCD compartible DVD-Player(SVCD conversion) or a dvd-player.
The FilmMachine Beta (1.5.0.15)
Cinema Craft Encoder "

Depending where your from you have to choose PAL or NTSC...
Another thing it could be is the brand of disc you are using, some players can be very fussy...for example my dvd player likes Imation and not much else...
What burning program do you use...?

Default HELP

I'm from the US.
what is PAL and NTSC?
I USE THE BURNING PROGRAM THAT CAME WITH MY PC- "SONIC RECORD NOW" IS THE PROGRAM. appreciate the help!

Its also telling me when i try to play it on the "Media Classic Player" that Media Player could not render some of the pins in the graph and that needed codecs or filters need to be installed on the system? do you happen to know what these may be?

Hi catfish.
Sonic wont burn downloads, because you need to decode the file, so my suggestion is get DVD Santa, its a free download for the demo version and it is so easy to use ti does all the work for you, the demo is for unlimited time it just has demo across the top of the screen for a bit...http://dvdsanta.com, Click on the link...
Now when you go to burn choose NTSC and you wont have a problem getting your player to run it....

Let me know how you go and if I can help in any way.....
