Why can't I put more than 25 songs on CD ?

Is there a way of converting the songs from Limewire to MP3 as I noticed I can't put more than 24 or so songs on a 700mb CD. Are the songs that I download in Wave format ? Can't figure this out. I thought I could burn around 100+ songs on a single CD. Thanks for any help or clarification you can give me on this.

No thats pretty good 25 songs, sometimes I can only fit 16 depending on the size of the mp3.....

Theres no way of shrinking it down that I know of, but I could be wrong....;)

It depends upon whether you want to burn a normal audio cd or an mp3 disk. If you burn an mp3 disk then you're limited as to devices you can play it on. A normal audio cd can hold: (a) 650 MB = 74 min 14 sec or (b) 700 MB = 79 min 54 sec
Keep in mind on a normal audio cd, 1 min takes up just over 10 MB

An mp3 disk can hold as many songs as space allows. eg: If all your songs are exactly or average 4 MB in size then a 700 MB disk could hold 175 songs if burnt in mp3 format.

Hi LOTR, how do you burn in mp3 format? do they play on a cd player the same... I usually burn through my itunes...:)

I don't have a portable cd size mp3 player. But I can play them thru my dvd player. But instead of mp3 cd's, I burn mp3 dvd's! Yes you can do it thru iTunes. iTunes Preferences > Advanced > Burning & tick your option. The nice thing about burning them thru iTunes & playing thru the dvd player is you get menus of artists -> Albums & lists of titles. And of course you can program a playlist on a dvd player. I haven't burnt an mp3 disk in a while though. That's a lot of mp3's you can fit onto an mp3 dvd (4.37 GB) I haven't tried it on the larger dvd's yet ... here they're too expensive.

Cool, I'm going to give that a try....
I've been getting a heap of the real old stuff for my Dad and I thought I would have to use about 6 cds, but if it works on your dvds I cant see why it wouldn't work for the home stereo...

Thanks again.;)

If you're going to try it, do it on an RW 1st. That way you won't waste a disk if it doesn't come out exactly how you wanted. I think I chose mp3 cd when burning the mp3 dvd I can't remember (as compared to data disk).
