New to this and very confused. I wanted to start watching & downloading movies ect. I joined MovieAdvanced last night and it told me to download Limewire, I got the pro version. I have Windows Xp on a Compaq N600c Laptop. I use NTL/Freedom Broadband 1 speed I think.

I am trying to download an episode of Lost, it's fine looks like a few hours to complete until all this uploading starts, whats all that about. I have nothing downloaded to share ! It looks like people uploading what I am downloading & it slows the speed from about 22 to 4 !

I also thought I could just watch stuff not just download it ?

Bit worried about sharing too, can someone see all my stuff ? Is it safe ? What if I log off and their no finished ?

What was the point of joining MovieAdvanced ? Could I have just bought Limewire ?

Can someone give me some advice please

Hi welcome to limewire 1st off you have been scammed, how much did you pay and more than likely you only have the basic version not pro.
2nd dont name the file its against the forum rules and you will get blasted for it.
3rd you can only dl files to watch them its a p2p program
4th when people are uploading from you they need as many connections to the file as possible, so even if its partially dl it all helps.....

Also go and check out the stickies at the beginnig of this forum, their full of great advice and should be read by all, if you have any other questions let us know.....

I paid about £30 to join MoviesAdvanced for unlimited membership. It was from there I went to the Limewire site & chose to be upgraded to Limewire PRO from the site and it says Pro on the download & I have a receipt from Limewire. It was an exta £10.

You have definately been scammed you can only get limewire from its official site and the basic is free and pro costs $18.88US, so you need to contact your cc company asap and cancel the transaction, tell them you have been a victom of fraud...

Whatever that site said about watching movies, you cant you have to dl them......

By files I did mean the movie/show you cant name them.....

Dont stop the uploads this helps you download, so without it you will probably get slower speeds.....

I have disputed the payment to MovieAdvance. I paid through PayPal so they may be able to refund me the £35 I paid.

I upgraded to Pro from the limewire site and it was $18 which is about £10. My receipt is from Limewire so that ok.

WoooHoooo I got a refund

i don't know about movies, but with music you can un-check the box in (tools)(options)(uploads)(basic) that dis-allows partial sharing. then, share it after it's done downloading.
