My point is a pretty simple one -- if you can't or won't share files, then I believe you shouldn't be downloading them.
Thats still a tad bit harsh. There are many reasons why users dont always share and I agree, freeloaders are no good for the network. Leechers should NOT be allowed on but, since Gnutella is a open network, there isnt much anyone can do. and, I do so miss the glory days of Napster before it soldout, all music and only music, you didnt have to worry about viruses because there was no other files expect MP3 and everyone shared, no one even thought twice about not sharing, ever since this RIAA crap, users are turning into freeloaders instead of sharers. sigh.

Default freeloaders (S&*%)

i agree with Lord, i highly recommend external hard drive. i've had this one for awhile finally installed. biiiig difference. i have over 100GB of music but only share about 35GB at a time (about 7000 songs). I thought i put a thread out there about setting up for (or against?) freeloaders. mine won't work. i'm curious as to why????

i have it set for 5000 minimum, and rarely. yet i chat with (nothing to share) all the time!!

Default limits??

this is the first time ever for downloading. i have 900 albums in my library, put there 1 cd at a time. i had absolutely no idea how many songs anyone else might have. i started out sharing all my songs. because of (newbie) adjustments, and just checking things out, i found that to be too much. now that i've been on L W for a little while, i will adjust (amount of) songs. i'm just trying to figure out what to leave and what to remove!

but still, i haven't gotten my freeloader limiter to work. thanx for info. every time i get on this forum i find out something new.

p.s. i WILL be leaving "the ****s" as well as the rest of ***.
