Hi,
Im using Lime Wire Pro on my computer and my husband is using the free version on his. Yet on both the first song we download each day or when ever we use it for the past few weeks turns out to be this advertisement that starts out with Bill Clinton saying he didnt have sex with Monica etc etc? No matter what song title or artist we put in it turns out to be this. Why is this happening on both our computers and how can we get rid of it?

For one im not a Clinton lover and for two if you read my post correctly you would have seen where I said it doesn't matter what song title we put in. It could be I wish you a Merry Christmas but when you download it the bill Clinton mp3 plays. I would not download anything called slick Willie. I was hoping to find help here not be insulted..

If you are stupid enough to click on small files no matter what the title then you deserve to get a virus/trojan. I have no more pity for those that dont know what they are doing and just randomly click on anything that catches there eyes and there IS a bill clinton virus on gnutella. This isnt the first time this has comeup. call it what it is then without misleading topic titles.

lighten up Sphinx. She is right. There are mp3 files floating around that has an incredibly lame imitation of bill clintons voice. i have seen listened to them myself. they are not viruses, they are just audio mp3's with a crappy voice like that of bill clinton.


JND1993, this happens sometimes on the gnutella network, we have a small amount of spammers on the network. to deal with this, a spam filter is being adding to limewires next version. stay tuned to learn how to filter that spam out. (i have already tested it, and it works great too )

for a quick fix, try disconnecting limewire from the network, then try reconnecting again. hopefully you will get different nodes that do not cover the spammers search horizon. you also have to look at the files details before starting a download. (enable extended tooltips by right-clicking on the search result columns) i recommend that you choose files that have meta-data written to them. also avoid downloading results that have ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.

Sphinx, next time try to help more instead of trying to increase your post count by spamming topics with ignorance.
