Is it legal to download music on Limewire?
 

Does anyone know if it is legal to download music off Limewire. I downloaded the basic edition which is free and im not sure if it is illegal to download music off the limewire as i havnt paid anything.

Can someone help? Thanks

if your in america yes it's illegal to share mp3's i've never heard of anybody here going to court for just downloading music only shareing hundred's of song's and stuff because if everybody in america who downloaded a song got taken to court we'd have over 30 million cases per day ...lol

Generally you can legally share anything you want, except if it is copyrighted.

It is illegal when you share a song that has copyright declared on it. If it is a song from any major label I think you can safely assume the copyright has been declared. If it is a song from some garage band probably not.

So you can legally share songs, you just have to be careful you do not infringe copyright. (as if)
