Default ohhhhhhhhh soooo frustrating!

I keep on getting "awaiting sources" because people keep on signing off already only a second after I start downloading. I'm searching for something then nothing happens (no search results yet) then finally I get a search result as if the person just signed on then as I click on it to download, it will download just for a second then I get "awaiting sources." And I thought that meant the person signed off already. How does the person expect us to finish downloading when the person has his limewire on only for one second? Why won't those people just keep limewire on for a while and give us a chance to download. It doesn't always take one second to download something. I know people have lives but they can just leave limewire on then get up and leave. They don't have to shut down limewire if they don't want to be on the computer anymore. Another problem is how I can't get enough search results because people do not want to share. I don't understand that. Why do people refuse to share? Why do I not get search results when people do not want to share. All I get are stuff on the search that I do not want. I have no idea if I am successfully sharing stuff so why should I share stuff if many people out there won't. That's not fair.

well first it starts connecting then maybe a few minutes later, it's saying "awaiting sources" so I don't know if it's because it's rare or no one is sharing or anything if it was connecting fine for a minute. I have a DELL, Windows XP Home Edition and I have a router. Often I browse the host when I get "awaiting sources" and find out the host cannot be browsed and I thought that meant the host went offline. What else does it mean if the host cannot be browsed. That's why I was thinking that when the host does show up, I try to immediately browse the host before he goes offline and suddenly, I can't browse him.

I have a D-Link Air DWL -520 wireless PCI adapter. I don't know how to check for the model number. I did notice while looking at the router that it seems the router doesn't allow peer to peer even though I'm getting shared files from people. I tried to disable it but I ended up losing my connection.

The D-Link Air DWL -520 wireless PCI adapter is what it says a adapter. The adapter transmits a signal to the router the router is connected to the Internet. We need to know what router you are using.

that's all I know. I do see a D-link Air Utility. How do I find out what router I'm using that you're talking about?

Hi,

Ok first I did the bug test and it was false.

Most of the files I download are not that large. It's like 7MB or something around there. I do try to download movie files which is like 700MB which it isn't a surprise that it's hard to download but 7MB didn't sound that large to me.

I've varied my searches, selected to only have three or four stars. I do not understand the whole Bitzi thing. I've looked at it and it just tells me details of files by giving me a bunch of letters and numbers. It tells me nothing.

For some reason, I'm not able to preview some files, even if it's 50% done. It just doesn't show up or it comes up as green.

I use the keywords and host filters and even clicked on ignore adult contents but some still are returned.

And I do ignore files smaller than 1MB but most of the files I do get are larger than 1MB but turns out to be another file I was not looking for.

I just don't understand why a person would sign on for only a second and expect us to finish a download that quick. And when I do find a file, I browse the host to see if he's still online. He's still online but the file is hard to download as I always get "awaiting sources." I keep on trying and trying over and over and over again until the file is available but it never is. Like I'm always coming online at the wrong time and like there's always so much traffic. I never know when is the best time to download something.

Are you sharing any files?

If you're getting a False incoming report, that suggests a firewall of some sort. We need to ascertain where that is. Whether it be a software firewall or a NAT firewall due to your router. It sounds to me like your connection is not as good as what it should be due to the above. It's being restricted somewhere. On the top or side of your router device it should say the brand & model no. It may even be on the bottom. But it should be listed somewhere. Did you not get a manual with it or some other documentation stating what it is ... how about a receipt. If it's rented or bought from your ISP then ask them. This sounds like it "is" important. I hope we can get this sorted out. At least if it's not your router, it'll be at least good to narrow that part out of the equation.
