![]() What software is best for managing files? For instance, to scan my computer for mp3 files so I have them in a list? I tried MediaMonkey but it has issues...LIKE duplicate listings...VERY annoying. |

![]() For music files (mp3 etc) I find iTunes excellent. http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ free download. Others will have their preferences, and for other types of files the Mac which I use can do the job fairly well on it's own. The Mac will in fact search for all mp3s and list them in various orders ... ... Can windows not do this? iTunes will give you a separate list of duplicates among many other things, but the tunes need to be loaded into iTunes first ![]() |

![]() Yes Windows can search for any files by using an asterisk * wildcard ( i.e. *.mp3 or *.txt if the search if for text files ) but it is a rather rudimentary function. I know there are software progs that are oriented specifically to manage music files. Just wondering what progs other people have found useful. |
