Need help with Microsoft Anti-Spyware

Ok, well, everytime I dl something, I always check if it has spyware or adware but unfortunately, when I run a scan in Microsoft Anti-Spyware, and I tell it to just scan a specific folder, it scans the whole computer. Can this be fixed?

I trust Microsoft for a lotta ****. Just cause ppl like to hack their Browser doesn't mean they suck. Mozilla could easily suck if more people went after it's browsers.

Anyone here know what my anti-spy problem is?
