Default Preview movies and pictures

Hello everyone!!!
I uded to have windows 2000, but I upgraded it to XP system. However, when I download pictures and movies, I cannot preview the movies and pictures I am downloading as I could before the upgrading of the system. It does not appear any message detailing if there is something corrupted or not wll installed to repair. Fortunately, I can preview the music I am downloading. Please tell me how to solve this problem since I use the preview function a lot.

I appreciate any help beforehand.

Thanks

To preview properly, some conditions must be met first:
-having enabled Preview beforehand (duh)
-having downloaded enough data in order to have something to preview (e.g. for a 10MB file, allow about 5% before clicking the preview button)
-having the right codecs for the movie you are trying to preview

Thanks for your time answering my question. However, would you tell me how to enable the preview option and how to download the right codecs???

Well, what I did for the codecs is went to www.videolan.org/vlc and downloaded that nice little free app: you won't need any additional codecs with that player. You'll only need to configure it as your default player.

As for the preview function, you need to go to the LW preferences/Options.
From there you need to click on the Player tab from the list on the left and then tick the box and click Apply (if it is already ticked, try unticking it, Apply, then re-ticking it)
