Computer Lagging

Whenever I turn on Limewire Basic on my computer, everything slows down. Everything imoves very slow. For example, when I turn on the Internet Explorer, the buttons takes a while to load. ALso, currently, Limewire is turned on, while im typing this message, the messages take time to show up while im typing. Does anyone know how I could solve this problem?

lord of the rings suggested to me, if you hold too many incomplete files it will slow you down.

also i'm sure you know if there's too much "stuff" in your computer it will slow down. you might try defragging computer. then it will tell you how much space is left.

No, its not that. Actually, my computer is just re-formatted.
There is tons of space and my computer is nice and defragged.
