for some odd reason i cannot launch any of my downloaded pics, when i try to launch it just sits there and does nothing and doesnt even try to open them, does anyone have any suggestions as to why and how to fix it?

Although you have not said I will presume you are a windows user and that you have MS Paint installed on your PC.

Now Paint will open BMP, JPG, Gif, Tif and a whole range of pictures on your PC.

However, I must warn you that there is currently a security issue involving pictures with *.wmf extensions, there is a security hole that will allow hackers to get into your PC, at the moment there is no patch for this security flaw.

Anyway, what you need to do is make sure that various picture extensions are associated with Paint, so do the following:

a) Go into Windows Explorer and right click your mouse on the file you want to open.

b) Choose "Open With" on the sub-menu that appears.

c) Choose the application you want to open the file with, as shown in the screen print below, and insure that the box marked "Always use the selected program......." is ticked then click the "OK" button.

d) Repeat a) - c) for each picture you want Paint to open that has a different extension.

You will only need to do this operation once per picture extension.

Yes thank u that did help and now i can open them but i use to be able to just click launch while in limewire and they would open. Any suggestions on how to get that to work?

You should now find that whenever you click "Launch" in LW and the pictures will open, I believe there is a control or tick box that allows LW to use your default program to open files, make sure that is ticked.

I would normally give you a screen print to show where this control/tick box is but, unfortunately, I am at work and do not have access to my installation of LW.

One other thing, something, possibly an installation of some sort, replaced or knocked out your picture file associations, that’s why your pictures wouldn’t open, I just gave you the instructions to re-associate them. So, you need to find out which rogue application knocked out your picture associations and delete it (unless it is something you need).

PS. At a guess, I think that the thing you installed probably secretly installed the 180 Search Engine you mysteriously acquired.
