Have a look in the manual: http://www.limewire.com/english/cont..._options.shtml |

OK, Thanks so it is not explained very well. Does this mean that the Itunes folder is the folder that I will be sharing with others? What about Limewire. How do I share files with Limewire? Or does Limewire not share files without Itunes and that it needs Itunes to share any file? I was under the impression that my files were to be shared with Limewire's interface. If someone deleted the Itunes folder will files not be used with Itunes and then will be shared with Limewire instead? |

Don't think you can delete it as such, it only gives you the option to open or disconnect. If you don't want to have that file in iTunes go tools > options > iTunes > sharing. Untick the 'share my music' box > apply. You'll never see it again. |

If you open up Windows Explorer, you will find the folder. I have tried to delete it and still do my Limewire and it works fine with no Itunes folder anywhere. I have just re-added the folder where it was orginally. But for those that want to know. You can delete it and have your music going to My Music or make up a folder like, Limewire Songs and that is where you can let your music go. You can then share it from there I suppose. |

There were a couple of folders that were in the Itune folder that seem to be unimportant. I just sent the whole entire Itune folder with it's subfolders to the recycle bin and went in and used Limewire normally and it worked normally. After I downloaded about 8 songs and checked them then I dumped the Itune folder all together and made another folder as my shared folder. Everything seems to work fine though. Any comments? I am still sharing am I not? I still don't get it. If I only have Limewire and NOT Itunes folder, am I still sharing with Limewire users? So with the folder Itunes am I sharing with Itunes and Limewire users? I have never seen the Itunes interface. I have seen it on a friend's computer but it is not on my computer that I have not seen. I had a folder but have not seen the program. Does that make sense? |

I find this thread very confusing. lol Most of the folders you see in the LW Library window are shared folders. Your downld folder is by default called Shared & is by default being shared (this can be changed.) The Saved Files folder is a simple reference to your most recently downlded files. You can also share these by allowing the options under LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Saving. Your incompletes can be shared also if you allow partial file sharing option. By using swarming it can help people downlding faster by sharing partially downlded files with that option. But don't physically add the incomplete folder as a shared folder! This will not be good for anybody. If you'd like to share more files & folders, see How to Share Folders (click on link) |
