99% CPU Usage ? Hi there I downloaded a movie last night, it was 714mb. I virus scanned it with Norton and it passed ok. When I tried to play it both with VLC or WMP it just froze up my laptop. I checked the task manager and explorer.exe was running at 99% cpu usage. I rebooted and the same thing happened again. I did a search and I only have 1 explorer.exe file I assume this is the proper system one. As soon as I deleted the movie all was ok. What was it ? and do you think it have left anything nasty behind ? Any ideas guys xxxDxxx |
I've had a few of these to, and their a corrupt file,I dont think they leave anything nasty behind I havent ran into any problems after they have been removed, check with Bitzi before you download as more often than not they will tell you if its corrupt...;) |
Thanks for putting my mind at rest. I usually use Bitzi but the show I wanted was really new and there were no lisitings. Lesson learnt ! xxxDxxx |
Mind you, sometimes the file can rate ok with Bitzi, something goes wrong somewhere lol. Maybe you can join Bitzi and rate the file as corrupt...Ive be meaning to do this myself ....;) |
Silly me deleted it without making a note or I would have rated it. Found a different version so fingers crossed ! xxxDxxx |
