![]() Greetings, As I dial-up user, I wanted to inquire if downloading the new version of LimeWire (I have version 4.2.6) is going to make a bit of speed difference. Yes, I know - I should get high speed, but truthfully I don't see that much difference in speed from the sites that I use on a daily basis. Just when it comes to downloading. I don't download music, but mostly adult content or porn (hey I am honest) and some clips could literally takes days to fully download - that is if LimeWire keeps me connected and if the users uploading remain online for as long as I need for the video clip to fully download. Now I am not expecting miracles, but it would be great if the new LimeWire was a little faster for the dial-up crowd and keeps me connected. One problem I will have is that I will leave my computer on all night, while I sleep to hopefully download an entire video or most of it over 8 hours and I wake up to realize that LimeWire knocked me off and I wasn't connected for the majority of the night. In addition, if I download and install the new LimeWire - will it erase the files that I still have waiting to be downloaded completely? Thank you very much for your time and I greatly appreciate any help. |

![]() Grandpa, Actually the internet itself stays connected - it's LimeWire that disconnects me from downloading files while I am sleeping for example and not using my computer. Like I said - I will still be connected to the internet, when I wake up and I think to myself that I have downloaded a bunch of files, until I see that the download files have hardly progressed and ultimately I wasn't even connected to LimeWire for most of the night. I guess on dial-up, downloading has to be a day time thing, where you can actually watch the progress. So I guess you are saying - stick with the LimeWire I have, because it won't make a difference with the new version. Thank you very much for your time and response. |
