Default Direct Conect Behind Network. Possible?

Im trying to send my girlfriend holiday photos, through limewire with Direct Conect. I have a dialup so its the easiest way really...

My setup is straight 56k Dialup into the wall.
Her setup is, she has a host computer plugged into DSL Internet into the wall, then her computer is wireless networked to the internet through this computer. She has a little chip sitting on her computer to recieve the signal and all

We have sent the file to 46% then i had a problem and it disconected, and now cant conect to each other again.
It says on hers, Windows firewall is either blocking this, or this computer is conected behind a router.

Am i right saying it is actually conected behind a router? since her sisters host computer is the host. And if that is right then there has to be a way around it cuz i conected and sent 46% of it. I just dont know how i did it lol.
So how do u find her IP address on her computer, and once i have it how do i conect around the router? Its not really a router but its a network so i dno...

I know its a mouthful but id really think it were quite simple lol
Thanks for any help!
Ice

Hi ice

The easiest way would be for her to direct connect to you. If you are on dial-up, your IP address might change each time you log on.

The next time you are online, copy and paste the IP and port info seen above the Direct Connect box to her.

You could also send her a "magnet link," which would automatically find your file. Control-click a file in your Library that you want to send, and look for the Advanced->Copy magnet details.

If she pastes that magnet link in her browser window, it should fire up her LW, and begin downloading.

If she direct connects me then Only she can browse my shared files i cant actually see hers.

The real problem is why does it read she is behind a router at her end instead of giving her an IP address. Does she need to foward the port limewires listening on to the router somehow? Will this fix the message?

Cheers for fast feedback
Ice

Get her to check her external ip. If it starts with 192 or 10 then you most likely won't be able to direct connect to her as those ip's represent being behind a network. Perhaps she could have a look at the tips here: Connection problems? Check here first! to configure properly. Wireless connections almost always have NAT firewalls. The question is whether hers supports UPnP & whether it's enabled & whether it works reliably. Also her software firewall on her computer might be an issue. That could help to explain the irregular connections between you.

If one of you are downlding from the other, then you should be able to browse each other. One from the downld window, the other from the upload pane of the LW Monitor window. Magnet link sounds like the way to go. Direct Connect tends to be difficult. You can't direct connect thru a non-configured firewall (ie: configured to allow LW full access.) There also needs to be open slots & bandwidth on both of your LW's.
