No it's not a lie, you can download LimeWire without the ads if you don't download the Windows-Version. I don't have ads on Linux. The Installer for 'Other' OSs should work on Windows, too (if you're not afraid of starting the dos prompt)

Well by my reckoning at least 90% of Limewires users are Windows users....so for the majority of their users, yes it is a lie.
Thanks for the info by the way about "The Installer for 'Other' OSs",it never even crossed my mind.

Maybe that's because the ad provider does not see the point in making a version of his fantastic ad-ware for linux.

it shouldn't be a problem to block ads with a firewall. Or maybe you could delete the one or the other file that is essential for the ad-ware only. - Or why don't you just keep the ad-ware, knowing that it helps to support starving developers at limegroup?

If you remove the CYDOOR DLLs with ad aware Limewire
1.8 wont run. This why I went back to 1.7c

Hi!

It is a big problem to block add-ins with your firewall, especially cydoors are a serious problem...

And it is true without add-ins no Limewire!

Yes this is "one" solution...

but easier is to change the client...

and it is the best because I cannot trust the Limewire developers anymore!

But thank you for the advise...

This is Limewire logic Windows have to pay Linux not...

This is bull****!
