when I start the newly downloaded limewire a non-win message box says either a firewall or something is blocking the program. The other thing it says is " problems with loopback connections at local machine" I did disable every firewall I had at 1 point.

Don't have 2 firewalls running together, it'll just cause probs. If you have XP & another firewall, turn off the XP & configure the other one for LW (instructions in the thread).

Read this, it's got heaps of info about connect probs. Read all the stuff about UPnP, in case your router uses it:

Turns out I too had some zone labs chillin on the down low watchin my ish. I told em to let LW through and blaaadow, I limed up.....Birdy yur the effin man, thanx for pointin me at that guy who had the same prob.....Birdy rules......
